Thank you to the over 200 people who visited Center Portion this past weekend from the Logan Square neighborhood. We had a great time meeting everyone and sharing some fabulous artwork, performance and film. Looking forward to seeing more of you at future events.
After their scheduled gig in Chicago was unexpectedly canceled, poet/musician Chuck Perkins and the amazing New Orleans musicians he assembled for his latest recording, Voices of the Big Easy, landed at Center Portion for a night to remember. Despite the late notice, a huge crowd gathered to listen, glad of the initimate setting that makes Center Portion such a wonderful place to hear music. We hope the next time they venture north, they'll grace us with their one-of-a-kind sound again.
