NEXT EVENT

2012

Schedule TBA

2011 was a banner year of programming at Center Portion, featuring the Mayoral Tutorial, a screening of indie film, Waste Land, and the Holiday concerts with The Crooked Mouth, just to name a few. We are still putting together this year's schedule, and look forward to hosting original writing and performance in our Logan Square space.

There is plenty going on elsewhere in Chicago, and here are a few things Sheila Donohue recommends checking out:

Rhino Fest

Hunchback Opera

Center Portion is first and foremost about creating community and starting conversations. Sheila Donohue and her husband, Greg Scott, believe so strongly in the power and possibility of art + activism that they carved out space in their home to support it. Center Portion is completely not-for-profit and donations are used for direct support of the artists and activists who present their ideas.

Sheila Donohue is a nationally recognized performance poet, who has been sharing her original work with audiences for over 20 years. Center Portion was born from her desire to support writers who present their own work, thinkers who present ideas, and musicians who value the intimate listening experience. In the years since its founding, Center Portion has been all that and more, supporting visual artists, movers, theater-makers, and those who strive to make the world a better place.
